Organization

The supreme authority of the CIE is vested in the General Assembly of all members. The total number of delegates to the general assembly is limited to 160, elected proportionally to the number of members in each chapter. Any general assembly delegate shall serve a term of two years and may be re-elected for consecutive terms.

The Board of Directors of this Institute is composed of 27 board directors and nine alternate board directors, all elected by general assembly delegates. The board directors shall elect from among themselves five executive board directors and further vote for the president among those five executive board directors .

The Board of Supervisors is composed of five board supervisors and one alternate board supervisor, all elected by voting members (general assembly delegates). The board supervisors shall further elect one executive board supervisor from among themselves.

The Nomination Committee, under the authorization of the Board of Directors, shall undertake the election of general assembly delegates, board directors and board supervisors. This committee shall consist of 7 to 11 members selected from among the immediate past president, five immediate past executive board directors, any two former presidents in Taiwan and incumbent executive board directors. The immediate past president shall serve as the Chair of the Committee.

The board directors and supervisors of this Institute shall serve the term of two years without remuneration, and shall be eligible to re-election and re-appointment. Yet the president shall not be allowed to renew the term of office.

The incumbent President of CIE (2021-2022) is Dr. Shih Yi-Fan, Chairman of the Board of CECI Engineering Consultants Inc., Taiwan

CIE's operations are supported by a full-time secretariat. The secretariat, reporting to the Secretary General who administrates the daily running of the Institute from the headquarters in Taipei, is a task force set up to provide information and service to the members. 

This Institute is made up of 28 Committees and 4 local chapter offices to help members have ready access to the institute in Taiwan or overseas.
