多元、公平與包容

作為工程師,我們深信多元、公平與包容是社會進步與工程技術發展的基礎。作為學會的成員,我們支持和倡議文化多元與機會公平。
我們重視每個人的獨特性和團隊的多樣性,不論其專業領域、性別、年齡、族裔、宗教、政治取向、身體狀況或身份特徵。我們承諾在工作和生活中堅持公平與尊重,並努力消除一切形式的歧視和偏見。
我們切身了解工程與科技創新的力量,更直接運用這力量推動社會的進步。營造開放、包容的工作環境,讓團隊中所有人都感覺受歡迎、被尊重、受重視、被支持,並且能發揮所長。鼓勵多元背景和觀點的交流合作,更有利於發現與解決問題、創造高效能的團隊與產出,讓工程與科學技術為人與所在的環境創造福祉。
謹此呼籲工程與科技各界攜手合作,共同促進多元、公平與包容的價值觀,營造持續進步的社會。讓每個人都能充分發揮潛力,為團隊產生更大的貢獻,一起把握當下、創造未來!
本學會實施狀況:
一、本學會明述於民國110年出版之120年(西元2031年)白皮書:
中工會對外代表工程界、對內引領國際潮流,率先全面回應聯合國 17 項永續發展目標 (UN SDGs) 在工程與科技領域的落實。
定位學會為涵蓋多元觀點、具社會代表性、能落實包容性的專業智庫。
學會會員與各組織之組成反映職場之性別比例。(2019年本會調查報告中,工程與科技職場女性平均佔比 13%。)
二、本學會於107年(西元2018年)成立女性工程師委員會,廣納女性工程師與科技人舉辦交流活動。更於西元2021年發起結合50餘工程、科學與科技界學、協、公會,每年舉辦「女科技人大會」,匯聚工程與科技界的女性力量形成互助與支持社群,為工程與科技界注入新能量。
三、本學會於107年(西元2018年)成立青年工程師聯盟委員會,更為了使青年工程師的發展多元化,於西元2020年起結盟友好學、協、公會,每年集結各界力量舉辦青年工程師交流活動,提供成長發展之養分。
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

As engineers, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are the foundation of social advancement as well as engineering technology advancement. As members of the Institute, we support and advocate cultural diversity and equal opportunities.
We value individual uniqueness and team diversity, regardless of expertise, gender, age, ethnic origins, religions, political orientations, physical conditions, or identities. We commit to upholding equity and respect at work and in life, and strive to eliminate all forms of discrimination and prejudice.
We understand firsthand the power of engineering and technological innovations, and directly put into applications to drive social advancement. Building an open and inclusive work environment makes everyone feel welcomed, respected, valued, supported, and empowered to contribute one’s talents and expertise. Encouraging collaborations of diverse backgrounds and perspectives is conducive to identifying and solving problems, building effective teams, and producing outcomes that benefit people and the environment.
We hereby call on the engineering and technology sectors to work together in promoting the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion to foster persistent progress of the society. Let us empower everyone to fully unleash his/her potentials and make greater contributions to teamwork. Together we seize the moment, and create the future.
Status of DEI at CIE:
A. In CIE's 2031 Strategic Development White Paper published in 2021:
CIE, as the representative to international engineering organizations, commits to the promotion of internationalization of domestic engineering communities with the active response to the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals in the field of engineering and technology.
CIE is positioned as a professional think tank and is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
The composition of membership and committees of CIE reflects the gender ratio in the workplace. (13% in average are women in the engineering and technology sectors, according to CIE survey of 2019.)
B. The Women in Engineering Committee of CIE was established in 2018 to encourage more interactions and networking activities of women engineers and technologists. Moreover, since 2021 CIE has been collaborating with more than 50 engineering, science, and technology societies and technicians guilds to organize the "Women in Science & Technology Conference" annually, bringing together female powers to form a community of mutual assistance and support, injecting new energy into the engineering and technology sectors.
C. The Young Engineers Alliance Committee of CIE was established in 2018 to diversify the professional development pathways for young engineers. In 2020, the committee formed alliances with other engineering associations, institutes and societies to carryout networking activities to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuity in the engineering professions.
